I, myself, have never been there, but our good friend, Joe Peters, 'God rest his soul', always attended this annual Spring Classic and he told me it is well worth the experience. Over in Indy, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, on May 10th thru the 18th, the Mecum Auto Auction will be taking place with over 3,000 vehicles to hit the block. Also remember that this swap meet is the biggest one of the year with many vendors setting up outside. If we have a nice club turn out, this might also be a club get together. Of course, classics are welcome all three days but the big open car show will take place on Saturday. Again members, please come early! On May 24-25-26, the Springfield Swap Meet Cars and Parts will take place at the Clark County Fairgrounds. Then next week, on the 19th, our club will again have a MVN Line Up as we support the Annual Cincy Street Rods Car and Motorcycle Show at the Butler County Fairgrounds from 9 AM to 4 PM.

This, as always, is a MVN Get Together, so members please come early since they will only allow me to hold open spots for the club for a few hours to line up. On the 12th, the Annual Charity Shriner's Mother's Day Car Show will once again take place at Smith Park in Middletown, Ohio from 7 AM to 3 PM. For all of the info, see the Flyer on Kevin's Site, or in your Show and Shine. On the 11th, at Robin's Kettering Saturday Night Cruise-In, she will be hosting a special evening for all of us to remember our good friend and long time classic car enthusiast, Darrel Uzzel from 2 PM until dark. On the 4th, the Ex-Pupils Car Show at the Green County Career Center from 10 AM – 3 PM. But of course, I will mention some that are always a fun time. So it's up to you to look at your Show and Shine Calendar or visit Kevin's site that right now has 150 flyers up for you to view just in May alone, or my special picks on the Car Show Page on MVN. Now, no way could I ever begin to completely cover this first full month of events that are taking place. See the MVN Website for all twenty of my special picks and where they are held each week. In West Milton, Ohio, Shane will be doing the 'Cars and Cones Cruise' from 4-9 PM and in Lima, Ohio, Chris will be doing the 'Cool Car Cruise-In' from 5-8 pm. Both are on Wednesdays, but far enough apart to not hinder each other. In fact, I have just put two more on my picks list that I know are going to be great because I know both of the promoters doing them.

Speaking of weekly cruise-ins, May is the month that all of them are now taking place. I get a lot of looks at my green 71 Nova that is far from perfect every time I bring it out and isn't that what cruise-ins are all about? So check out your Show and Shine Auto Event Calendar to find one to your liking, and get out there to enjoy your classic. Now I know in past MVN Newsletters, I have gotten on those of you who are letting your machines just sit in a storage building or garage year after year because you don't like car shows, the competition, or this is one I really don't get, 'Mine is not much to look at!' Hey, you will be surprised how many people love to see a work in progress. Now that we are into the month of May and with both the weather getting nice and daylight lasting until almost nine p.m., it's time to start going to your local cruise-ins to hang out with friends who share the love of our classic car, truck and motorcycle hobby.
